Learning to Love:
Supporting Self-Love for Students with
Disabilities

This paper explores how important it is for neurodiverse students to practice self-love.

While there’s a lot of research on how neurodiversity and mental health issues often go together, there has been less written about how self-love might help and support neurodiverse learners.

By reviewing existing studies and sharing personal experiences, the paper shows why we need to focus more on supporting neurodiverse students in learning to love and accept themselves. It suggests that teaching self-love as a skill could help students handle challenging situations better and feel more confident

in who they are.

The paper encourages schools and researchers to better explore self-love as a crucial step for well-being and success.

This image features a human heart suspended above an outstretched hand, with various elements radiating outwards. The rays emanating from the heart are made of text and patterns, with phrases like "Building a narrative" and "Transform your sublime memories" scattered among them. The central theme is captured by the text "THE WONDER OF LOVE," suggesting that love is a powerful and transformative force, capable of shaping narratives and memories. The imagery and text together evoke a sense of wonder and the deep, complex nature of love.
