about me

about me -- a space to learn a little more about the creator of this capstone

Caroline  Weaver

currently residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Caroline is passionate about creating accessible, student centered, and empowering toolkits which support neurodiverse learners in successfully

self-advocating within schools.

This image shows a close-up of a person's face, focusing on their eyebrow, eye, and part of their nose and mouth. Overlaid on the image are several lines of text, which read: "about the author. Informed by decades of experience. Formulated with the perfect balance of powerful efficacy with unwavering dedication, in service of all"

Caroline believes in making tools that meet neurodiverse students where they are.

Her work supports positive self-understanding and community building through encouraging accessibility and sharing personal experiences.

Championing vulnerability as strength, Caroline hopes to help students stop blaming themselves for struggling in school and instead create better pathways towards

self-love, self-advocacy, and more inclusive spaces. She thinks this is

an important step that’s often missing in creating better learning spaces,

especially for those who learn differently!

A student with learning disabilities herself, Caroline is honored to work within and alongside a community of students and academics fighting to promote community action and social change. She is proud, determined, and ready to foster love and

create space for neurodiverse voices in a system that has historically silenced them.

Neurodiverse: used to describe the unique ways one's brain might be structured
Self-understanding: knowing things about yourself, like what you’re good at, what challenges you, and why you might feel a certain way
Accessible: easy to use, understand, or reach for the largest amount of people
Self-love: treating yourself with kindness, respect, and accepting who you are
Self-advocacy: the ability to continuously speak up for yourself
Learning disabilities: when someone's brain works differently, which might make it harder to understand things like math, reading, or writing.
